Young High Yellow Jackets legend tailback Howard Stanley scored the Young's only touchdown & kicks extra point. Knox High went for 2 for the win however, defensive back Stanley stop the attempt to secure the victory. The Yellow Jackets posted an undefeated football season for 1950. To our knowledge South Knoxville's ONLY football team to record a perfect record.

South High opened in 1939 and the iconic Rocket remain until 1976. South High merged with Young High in 1977 to form South-Young High School. Go Trojans! Today, the Rocket stands on Mooreland Heights Elementary School.

South Knoxville's Doyle High School opened September 5, 1967. In 1984 Doyle High merged with South-Young to form South-Doyle High School.

South Knoxville's TSD School opened April 14, 1845 and still remains Knoxville only school for the deaf.
